Proposed Temporary Bus Stand in Finsbury Square from January to May 2022

Transport for London (TfL) is carrying out a major upgrade of Bank Station and as part of these works the Northern line between Kennington and Moorgate will be closed for 7 weeks between Jan to May 2022. As part of TfL’s measures to minimise disruption to tube passengers a new temporary bus route would serve the route from Oval and terminating at Finsbury Square.

To facilitate the bus route Islington Council is proposing to temporarily introduce a 28 metre length Bus Stand on the northern side of the northern arm of Finsbury Square. This will involve relocating the two car club bays to the opposite side of the road and removing two parking spaces from the shared use (Permit holders and pay by phone) bay.

It is anticipated that the Bus Stand would be in place for the period of the temporary bus route which will operate from January 2022 to May 2022. Once the station work is complete and the bus route removed the previous parking layout will be reinstated.
